They have the capability to sort out the things that are happening all around them both in the realm of the physical world as well as the spiritual.”

People underestimate the power of the press. The words the press uses, and the issues they choose to present (and not present) shape the way we think about the world. For a Christian, it is the bible that shapes our thinking and provides the worldview. (Romans 12:2). It is either-or. You are either influenced by the world, or the bible. Just as the words of the bible have the ability to transform our mind, the press has the ability to shape how we think about issues. The result of journalism is that it can potentially shape our reality. Journalism does the following-

• first, it helps people make sense of the world (as described above)
• second, it figures prominently in the upcoming Tribulation (more in a minute)
• third, I believe unsaved people have now gone beyond comprehending what is going on in the world and that therefore journalism has exceeded its usefulness in this regard. This is the point of this essay.

Robert Jensen of the University of Texas at Austin, Journalism department, wrote an extraordinary essay this week. In it, the Professor called for “apocalyptic journalism.” Don’t get excited, he is not referring to Christianity in any way, nor giving credence to our God as existing and sovereignly controlling affairs of men. But he is acknowledging that man’s understanding (unsaved man, that is) simply can’t comprehend the scope of our world’s catastrophes any more. In my opinion, his acknowledgement is a significant advancement on the road toward the rapture.

Jensen seems to understand that the fabric of things is unraveling … and unraveling so completely that it is not going to be repaired. He, and others he quotes, see an upcoming “massive social dislocation” due to our failure to ‘make peace with Gaia.’ (honoring the creation rather than the creator as per Romans 1:25.) He writes,

“That means that we’re in trouble, not in some imaginary science-fiction future, but in our present reality. We can’t pretend all that’s needed is tinkering with existing systems to fix a few environmental problems; significant changes in how we live are required. No matter where any one of us sits in the social and economic hierarchies, there is no escape from the dislocations that will come with such changes. Money and power might insulate some from the most wrenching consequences of these shifts, but there is no permanent escape. We do not live in stable societies and no longer live on a stable planet. We may feel safe and secure in specific places at specific times, but it’s hard to believe in any safety and security in a collective sense. … In short, we live in apocalyptic times.”

He is right. We do. And this isn’t even the Apocalypse yet.

What Jensen is comprehending is the eternity set within his heart (Ecclesiastes 3:11). He feels it, but just doesn’t know what it is. He seeks a framework within which one can try to make sense of what is happening. Jensen speaks the same words that millions are already thinking, of this I am sure. His view has become the representational view of most of the secular world. Sadly, he will never find the framework he seeks to make sense of things, unless he has the framework of Jesus.

The world does not make sense unless one sees it through the biblical worldview. Any other worldview will be false. But it is the worldview people have used for millennia and its falsity is showing up clearly now because it is coming apart at the seams. Nothing makes sense anymore and nothing is working.

Jensen continues in his article by saying that we need a new framework in order to connect the dots. He is right, and he is so close to the truth! The framework we need in order to make sense of the world is Jesus. But that is not what Jensen calls for.

In Jensen’s mind, and I believe he is speaking for many in the world who can’t figure out what’s going on, is that the old dots that need connecting are too far apart now. They are so far apart that each one is as distant from one another as the east is from the west. So therefore, he calls for new dots. He calls for “apocalyptic journalism”, a kind of return to ‘prophetic preaching.’ He says in effect that those prophets of Old Testament days didn’t cause the crises that came upon people, but they had something important to say that ought to have been listened to. He says we need more of that nowadays. What Jensen forgets is that the old Prophets had messages from God, they weren’t monster shouters spouting off on their own agendas. Anyway, the people didn’t listen to Noah preaching apocalypse when the world was unraveling the first time. To continue, Jensen writes,

Prophetic preaching does not put people in crisis. Rather it names and makes palpable the crisis already pulsing among us. When the dots are connected, it will require naming the defining sins among us of environmental abuse, neighborly disregard, long-term racism, self-indulgent consumerism, all the staples from those ancient truthtellers translated into our time and place.

The sins that need naming are not environmental abuse, being a bad neighbor, racism, and consumerism. Jensen says that those were the old sins that Amos and Hosea and Jeremiah and Isaiah were calling out against, and we use modern language to name them now. No, not at all. The prophets were calling the people to stop sinning by turning away from sin and turn to Him in repentance. Obeisance and repentance were the clarion calls of the day, as were rejecting idols and worthy worship of the LORD, because God is the only hope, through Jesus. I am so sad that people today see that the world is crumbling, the old frameworks don’t make sense any more, that journalism is failing to show us the world through a proper lens- and do not turn to the one Hope there is. Even Jensen says he has no hope. Look what he writes at the end of his article–

That subhead is not an editing oversight. I wish there were an easy solution, an upbeat conclusion. I don’t have one. I’ve never heard anyone else articulate one. To face the world honestly at this moment in human history likely means giving up on easy and upbeat.

In this, Jensen is right. To face the world honestly DOES mean giving up on being upbeat- if you are a secular person who doesn’t know Jesus, that is.

The upcoming Tribulation movers and shakers will use journalism as a fully satanic framework to promote satan’s false signs and wonders. (2 Thessalonians 2:9). It will be used to promote the peacemaker who will turn out to be the antichrist. It will be used to show the death of the Two Witnesses. (Revelation 11:9). Satan has his clutches in the media even now, and after the rapture you will not be able to believe anything you see or read. The Tribulation will be a time of utter lies, because it is the time given to satan to allow sin to come to the full, and satan is the father of lies. Anyone who reads a newspaper or watches the news now knows we cannot trust it. What will it be like after the rapture? The worst.

Jensen’s message, as well as most of humanity’s today is, “Nothing’s working, we’re losing hope, it is all for nothing”. These were words that Solomon used after he had tried every which way to find fulfillment. Solomon’s conclusion was that all is vanity.

All things are full of weariness;
a man cannot utter it;
the eye is not satisfied with seeing,
nor the ear filled with hearing. (Ecclesiastes 1:8)

Hosea wrote that Israel had been feeding on wind. (Hosea 12:1). That is the world today, feasting on vanity and wind, and finding that nothing they do fulfills. But, there IS hope!! Saving the world does not depend upon us, upon man. That should be a relief. The earth is the LORD’S and everything in it. (Psalm 24:1). He will take care of renewing it. The prophets of old called for the people to turn their eyes on God and his coming Messiah. He is the hope. Any spiritually discerning person knows that though these times are dark we have a huge hope in Jesus coming soon. We have the hope of our inheritance, which is Him and His finished work on the cross, forever. Jensen calls for someone to [INSERT HOPEFUL ENDING HERE]? OK I will!

Key political factions in war torn Iraq have accused their present prime minister Nouri Maliki of becoming a dictator and setting in place a governmental system similar to that of the late Saddam Hussein who ruled the Iraqi people with an iron fist in a decade long dictatorship.

 

 

Anti US Shiite cleric Muqtada Sadr who leads one of Iraq’s political parties has accused Prime Minister Maliki of trying to either delay or actually cancel the next Iraqi election and lead the country under a dictatorship similar to the style of the late Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein.

 

 

Jimmy’s Prophetic Prospective on the News

 

 

A return to an Iraqi dictatorship like the one under Saddam Hussein is a precursor for the fulfillment of Bible prophecy.

 

 

For over a decade, Saddam Hussein led the Iraqi people as a strongman dictator and he gave the orders for thousands of his own people to be killed because they refused his leadership. Muqtada Sadr, a radical Islamic cleric who has a large militia under his leadership as well as a political party that Sadr heads, wants to bring down the Maliki government thus the reason for accusing Maliki of being a dictator.

 

 

This scenario fits the prophetic passages in God’s Word that reveal a period of time in the future when Iraq will once again be under a dictatorship according to Revelation 18 and 13:16-17. These passages indicate that dictator will be the Antichrist, the Satanically energized personality of the Tribulation Period. Modern day Iraq, a war torn nation today, will indeed rebuild and be known as Babylon, that’s its biblical name, and it will become the economic, political, governmental capital of the world that rules under the dictatorship of the Antichrist. The ancient Jewish prophets reveal that after Babylon comes back to power it will be destroyed, Isaiah 13-14, Jeremiah 50-51 and Revelation 16.

 

 

A move towards a dictatorship in Iraq today is indeed setting the stage for Bible prophecy to be fulfilled.

Monday Bombshell: Evidence So Damning It Will “Determine the Fate of Our Nation”

Radio host Glenn Beck has reportedly obtained information regarding the Saudi Arabian national initially detained as a suspect in the Boston Marathon bombing.

According to Beck, the lies surrounding this suspect run so deep that should they become public they will have consequences so severe that the United State of America as we know it will be “done” if the Obama Administration is not held to account.

On his radio show Friday, Beck urged White House officials to come clean.

Failure to do so, says Beck, will leave him no other choice but to release evidence so damning that it will, “determine the fate of our nation.”

Beck says President Obama and law enforcement officials have until Monday to be honest with the American people, or he will release what he knows.

This is very, very important.

What we do going forward from here will determine the fate of our nation. 

Make no mistake. This story is number two [September 11 was #1] because of what I know. what we do will make this the most important story of our lifetime. What’s happening now is very important.

What happens in its aftermath will make it the most important, because it will either save our country, or we will be done.

Let me send this message very clear. We know who this Saudi National is. And it is in your best interests and the best interests of integrity and trust for the people of the United States of America.

It’s best coming from you, not coming from a news organization.

Initial reports after the Boston Marathon bombing were that a Saudi Arabian was in police custody and being questioned in the hospital.

Here’s what we know so far.

• Within a few hours of identifying Abdulrahman Ali Alharbi as a possible suspect in the bombing, officials advised that the this individual was cleared of any wrong-doing.
• The FBI and other law enforcement agencies searched Ali Alharbi’s apartment in Revere, Massachusetts. Officials indicated that no evidence was found or removed from the apartment, but eye witness reports suggest otherwise. Fox News reported live from the scene that law enforcement was seen removing several bags after searching the residence.
• The following day, Secretary of State John Kerry had a private meeting with a Saudi foreign minister.
• President Obama, likewise, had an unscheduled meeting with the ambassador from Saudi Arabia. The official White House position is that the discussion entailed Syria, and had nothing to do with the Boston bombing.
• First Lady Obama, also concerned about the health of the Saudi, paid a special visit to him in the hospital.
• Within 24 hours, it was reported that college student Abdulrahman Ali Alharbi, originally identified as the Boston Bomber, was to be deported back to his home country on “national security grounds.”
• When questioned by reporters on Thursday, Homeland Security head Janet Napolitano said that she knew nothing about the supposed deportation and that this claim was nothing more than a “rumor.” When further pressed about the suspect’s involvement in the most significant terrorist acts on U.S. soil since September 11, 2001, a frustrated Napolitano responded, “I am not going to answer that question, it is so full of misstatements and misapprehensions, that it is just not worthy of an answer.”

According to Glenn Beck, however, the real story surrounding Saudi Arabian suspect Abdulrahman Ali Alharbi has been completely covered up by the White House and law enforcement officials at the highest levels.

By Monday night, either the Obama administration comes clean, or Glenn Beck has promised to make whatever information he has available public.

If this report from Beck is legitimate, and we suspect it is, then somewhere in Washington President Obama, Valeria Jarret, Janet Napolitano and others are having a crisis meeting as we speak.

What does he know?

Whatever it is, Glenn Beck implies that it is powerful enough to bring down the Administration.

My comments:

The media here in the U.S. is so “sewn up”, and Beck is so huge, I have to question why he is being “allowed” unhindered, to speak out against this government, unless he is playing into their  plans.  I know Beck has said he is prepared to die for the truth, and when Breitbart did exactly what Beck is doing right now, he turned up dead. (I know, I’ve read all the reports that said he died of “natural causes”.  Yeah, right!)

There are more “Beckheads” in this country than anyone can count, and if the PTB take him out, I could just about see that becoming a point of ignition for the “uprising” Napolitano, Jarret and Obama are all hoping for.  Nothing, but NOTHING, is as it seems anymore in this nation.  Our paranoid government won’t be happy until everyone else is as paranoid as they are.

They have labeled me a terrorist. This is the same Dean Garrison whose Father was a well know pacifist? They say the apple does not fall far from the tree and they may be right. There are very few things in this world that would make me want to go to war and kill another human being, but we all have our limits.

I am a conservative Christian who happens to believe in my Rights protected by the Constitution. These rights are only protected by this Constitution but granted by God. I am sorry if bringing up God makes some uncomfortable but this country was founded on His principles of equality, freedom and the rights of the individual. I do not bow to your king. I bow to no one because I am an American.

Americans are fighters. We come by that trait honestly. We had to fight for our very freedom from a tyrannical government. Many of us have had to fight for our freedoms from this government. Let us not forget the Native Americans, African-Americans, and for that matter, the women who have had to scratch and claw and fight for their own liberties. This government has never been perfect, but when injustice is present it is our duty to be prepared to fight to solve those inequities. This is who we are. We live by the “dangerous liberty” that Jefferson spoke of and not the “peaceful slavery.”

So am I a domestic terrorist? If the love of country makes me a domestic terrorist then I will proudly accept the title you have given me. I speak the truth today because it needs to be said. I will not cower in fear because that is what you want. You cannot continue to intimidate America. We are calling you out and it’s time to talk about this.

Most of us are wise enough to know that the Department of Homeland Security was formed to protect us from terrorism. We simply did not understand what the definition of “terrorism” would become. We all assumed the real reason for the creation of the DHS was to fight against the uprisings of Al Qaeda or Mexican Drug Cartels, for example. Now we give Mexican Drug Lords weapons and put members of the Muslim Brotherhood into top government positions. It is clear who the real target is and it is not foreign-born terrorists. It is God-fearing, constitution-loving, conservative people who want nothing more than a country that embraces the values of a great Constitution, rather than an administration that seeks to destroy it.

For the Patriots of this country, the Constitution is second only to the Bible for most. For those who love this country, but do not share my personal beliefs, it is their Bible. To them nothing comes before the Constitution of these United States of America. For this we are all labeled potential terrorists.

The DHS is arming at an alarming rate and “We the People” are not stupid. So you want to take our freedom? You want to take our guns? You want to lock us up and throw away the key? I’ve got a message for you… Molon Labe…Come and Get Them!

I want to remind you that history is not on your side. You must understand that the side with the greatest conviction is always the side that prevails. It is the side that is willing to commit to the highest level of sacrifice. There will be no dipping toes here. You cannot defeat the American people with a police action. You can slaughter ten of us with your advanced weaponry and one hundred more will be rallying behind us. We are not afraid because you must understand that you are calling us into a Holy War. That is what this is for us.

We do not intend to strike the first blow but we will defend ourselves at any cost.  In the end we know that we can trust no one. As much as I love to pat our Senators on the back when they do well, I will not forget that the vote was 98-0 in the Senate when they decided to take guns away from veterans without due process. You do not spit in the face of a veteran in my country and certainly not in the face of 125,000 of them without giving them a proper hearing. You encourage these men and women to fight for their country and then turn your back on them when they come back with the mental scars of war. Not all of these men and women and dangers to society and you cannot convince me that they are. I suppose it was simply most convenient to label all of them, just as you have labeled “The Patriots.” We have taken note.

This is the tyranny that you are vowing to lay your life down for if you are a member of this “private army.” Why do you think they ordered 1.6 billion rounds of ammo? You are not stupid. Why are you shooting at targets of armed senior citizens, pregnant women and children? The company was asked to specially manufacture those for YOU. They do not carry those in stock.

They are conditioning you. They are preparing you for a war which you will not win and you are pledging your life for the rule of a tyrant. I am asking you today to honor the people of this country and not the desires of a despot who wishes to be dictator. Use common sense. Why are you being trained in close quarter urban combat? We know about that. Why are they training you to drive the buses that were formerly driven by civilian contractors? We have been warned. We know about the “mass rallies.” Those of us who are awake know that martial law is coming. We just don’t know when.

You need to understand that you will not be coming at paper targets. We will fight you with any resources we have and we will be coming from everywhere. We will follow no set rules of engagement which is what makes us dangerous. You cannot predict our movements. We will fight back with extreme prejudice and there are millions of us willing to do so. You are being prepared to go to war against the largest army in the world. This is not North Korea. There are way more than 9.5 million of us armed here. We dwarf that army. If they want to try to invade we will fight them too. We will have no problem with putting you six feet under if you come at us in violation of our constitutional rights. You are taking the form of the modern-day “redcoats.”

Ultimately it is your call. You are being trained and you may think it is for reasons other than the obvious. After all, Al Qaeda is rumored to be sending lots of senior citizens, pregnant ladies and children as operatives to this country. There will be millions of them which is why you certainly need this much ammo. Wake up. I know you need a job and I know you serve in that capacity admirably, but if you cannot see what is happening then shame on you. You are being mobilized as a private police force to stand against the people of this country.

When the order comes down you had better remember who you are really fighting for. Are you willing to die for your king? You had better think long and hard about that question because the day is coming when you will be asked to make that decision.

For the American Patriots there is no decision to be made. Our king is more than just any king. He is the King of Kings.

So for now we will continue to cling to our God and our guns and we are quietly waiting for you. There is a rifle behind every blade of grass. And where I live there may be 2-3 rifles behind every small shrub. So what do you say? Want to get this party started?

We will not fire first because contrary to what you believe we are not terrorists. But we will be waiting and we grow more anxious every day. We are just waiting for you to give us an excuse to take back our country. We are not ruled by fear but, rather, bound by honor.

We will see this as an opportunity to regain what is ours. For all of those who have fought and died for our freedom, we will hold on to it tightly. Freedom shall not fall on our watch. No one ever made the ultimate sacrifice for this country in the name of radical communism. You have broken a sacred promise to men and women who fought and died for you. This is not acceptable and make no mistake…We are not slaves and we will not bow down to communist rule.

We will not bow down to anyone if it means that the nearly 1.4 million Americans who have died in battle will have done so in vain. You also may want to remember that many of the current military and veterans will be standing with us. Do you really think you have a chance against highly trained Green Berets, Rangers and Seals? I know you are scared and I would be too. But if you decide to fight for the enemy you will be dealt with accordingly. No mercy will be shown.

So what do you think DHS? Are you ready to face a standing army of 20 million? That is what you are up against. We will die for our King. Will you die for yours?

Eternity set in our hearts (A celebration of a different sort)

From time to time I like to share favorite blogs, and my ‘regulars’ will already be aware of these first two, but for recent-comers to ServeHimInTheWaiting, I want to feature these again because it is so important for folks not to just focus on the heavy stuff, but to also recall that the Lord is our burden-bearer, refuge, and strength.

When I first started blogging, one of the first blogs I discovered and followed, was The End Time on Blogspot, authored by Elizabeth Prata.  She and I have never met in person, though we have exchanged e-mails a few times.  Little by little as you read her blogs, you get a peek at Elizabeth as a person (she rarely speaks directly about herself or her life, because her focus is her Savior). What I have learned about her is that she has an amazing mind, true gifts of expression, of spiritual discernment, and of seeing the beauty of God’s creation everywhere she looks.  Most evident in her writing, is her heart for God which I know God must especially treasure.  I hope you will be as blessed by this beautiful testimony from her blog as I was. I hope she doesn’t mind I borrowed her title for this post.

Another blog which never fails to bless is written by a lady affectionately known as Sis Caddo.  As with Elizabeth, there is just something about Sis Caddo’s spirit, that is irresistible.  A sweetness and prevailing love for others that soothes the soul.  You can read any post on her blog, and you’ll come away knowing beyond doubt, Who is her greatest love.  You will also learn that she gives freely from a heart which is no stranger to pain and loss, yet still she loves unreservedly.  She has an astoundingly deep well of poetic and creative ability because her talent springs from the Lord, our well of Living Water!

Stop by her blog and get to know her.  You’ll be glad you did!

Now, here is another gal whom I will warn you, you’ll be challenged to keep up with her!  She is a published author and a real dynamo who has so many blogs she authors and contributes to, that I’ve lost count!  Her name is Lyn Leahz, and her post about “The Prophecy of the Final Pope” might interest you in light of today’s big announcement. (Though I must add this disclaimer on this particular article: I have my reservations about Tom Horn, because of his extensive use of non-canonical sources in his writings).  Still, as always, I see the value of knowing what is being said on these topics, leaving it to the individual believer to do their own due diligence.

And then there is dear LoopyLoo!  What can I say about Loopy?  She is a sweetheart, and her blog always glorifies the Lord.  She covers a lot of different things pertinent to Christians, but best of all she is really good at finding just the right video, story, or sermon to inspire and encourage (although the golden-eyed blinking kitty cat still kinda gives me the jitters.  Kinda like the painting whose eyes follow you through out a room, lol).

The dynamic duo of Liz and Wyman Au provide the WordPress readership with lots of food for thought.  I always love to hear from them and will be forever grateful for their sweet words and prayers and deeds.  They make me long for the day when we shall all meet our many far-flung brothers and sisters in that family reunion by and by. I had to save this guy for last because just like many others I have met in the blog world, there is no doubt that the Lord has orchestrated these e-quaintances.  (Did I just coin a new word? Cool!).  In the same year when I would lose my dad, as well as a family-friend who was also like a dad to me, as the Lord led the development of my blog He brought J-L alongside as a friend, a resource, as someone who has much life-experience and wisdom and discernment to offer, and as someone who has prayed over the purpose and progression of my blog and for my family during this time.  He has an uncanny ability to sense when I push beyond my capacity and need to rest in the Lord, or need encouragement or insight.  He is a great story-teller, and has a subtle sense of humor that sneaks up on you sometimes, much like that of my own dear husband Garrett.  He and his wife and daughter have just been moving from one home to the other, which has kept him busy, but I look forward to more of his original writing forthcoming.   This post today gave me a good chuckle as it pokes lighthearted fun at ourselves as Christians.

Ok, that one was so funny, here is another one.  But I have to warn you as a parent of christian youth,  it’s a little scary in it’s honesty!  (I know it’s not like this at OUR youth group, right Adam, Sherry, Ashley, Amanda, Ben, Isaac…..? )
